The building and construction industry promotes fact that all trades should have achieved formal qualifications. The industry is currently identifying the existing workforce as those that either already have their trade qualifications or those that intend on applying for recognition of their skills (attained by an RPL Recognition of Prior Learning process).
These recognised individuals will eventually be preferred to those that may not have achieved this status. With this thought in mind, the ABN group are providing support to any trades that wish to move with such accreditation.
Another benefit of a trade qualification is clearly possessing a sense of personal pride and achievement, to be able to publicly quote or display your qualification and to confidently and rightfully pass on your skills to train other apprentices for prosperity.
There is a big difference between completing a formal trade qualification and being a fully qualified trade with the maturity to contract independently.
Once you have completed and passed all competencies of your apprenticeship program, you will be awarded with a nationally accredited trade certificate. This is recognition that an apprentice is a competent tradesperson and is recognised by employers across Australia.
We also present a certificate of acknowledgment from the ABN Group in completing what is considered to be an outstanding achievement
As Australia's largest residential building group, ABN Group have many trade positions available at any one time for the apprentice who has strived to achieve high quality standards throughout their training.
At the completion of our your qualification, ABN Group offer an interest free start up loan if the apprentice is considering starting up their own contracting business within the ABN Group. We have had many successful apprentices take us up on this offer which they pay back through direct debits on the contract sum.
ABN Group offer a 'earn while you learn' scheme - first year apprenticeship wages start from around $477.00 gross per week, with slight differences between different trade types.
