The new ABN Group headquarters proposed for Leederville was given the green light this week with Development Approval granted by the Development Assessment Panel, with City of Vincent support.
This exciting project will see West Australian property leaders, Dale Alcock and Adrian Fini, join forces on a purpose-built development that will see residential construction, property and finance group ABN move into a state-of-the-art campus in Leederville by mid-2021.
Owned and managed by Mr Alcock, ABN Group will relocate its WA-based companies into the 9,000 sqm development on the Leederville Hotel Carpark site, represented by syndicate-owner Adrian Fini.
The new development will be the catalyst for activating the underutilised laneway adding another exciting dynamic space for the Leederville landscape.
In addition, Vincent Street will get an injection of new life too with a ground floor retail showroom facing onto Vincent Street, a multi-level office and retail space that will be accessed via the laneway.
ABN Group will occupy the entire building under a 12-year lease agreement, with two five-year extension options.
Mr Alcock said he is thrilled the development has been granted consent and he can’t wait to get underway.
“At ABN Group we pride ourselves on our high-energy culture and commitment to going above and beyond in everything we do” Mr Alcock said.
“I look forward to working with the Leederville Hotel Syndicate on this purpose-built development that has the potential to become an iconic part of the Leederville community.”
“We have commissioned internationally-recognised artist Tom Muller to make the building façade something really special – this is going to be a memorable part of the local landscape when complete.”
Mr Fini said that the development was the right fit for the space and local area.
“It’s an exciting partnership with the ABN Group and one that will add to the vibrancy of the area, increase day trade and add to the culture of the Leederville hub,” Mr Fini said.
City of Vincent Mayor Emma Cole said that she is excited to welcome ABN Group to Leederville, with it being a great example of high quality development working to activate the town centre.
“At the City of Vincent, we are excited to welcome ABN Group to Leederville,” Mayor Cole said.
“Bringing hundreds of staff into this vibrant town centre will have major benefits for our local businesses, and no doubt will be a boost for Leederville’s diverse mix of cafes, restaurants, bars and independent retailers. Daily foot traffic is what is needed to keep our high streets alive and thriving.
“We’re also impressed by the high quality of the development and the activation of the laneway opposite The Garden.
“The City of Vincent has begun the process of developing new planning guidelines for Leederville, our largest town centre, to attract quality residential and mixed use development. The ABN development leads by example and is a great sign of confidence in Leederville.”
