LEADING BUILDER DALE ALCOCK APPLAUDS WA’S BUILDING BONUS HOUSING STIMULUS EXTENSION

LEADING BUILDER DALE ALCOCK APPLAUDS WA GOVERNMENT FOR AMENDMENTS TO WA’S ‘BUILDING BONUS’ HOUSING STIMULUS CRITERIA

ABN Group Managing Director Dale Alcock has applauded the WA State Government’s decision, following today’s announcement that builders will have more time to commence construction for clients who have taken advantage of WA State Government’s building grant.

“The WA State Government’s building bonus has been highly successful in providing the intended stimulus to our industry. The extension of the timeframe to 12 months to commence site excavation works provides our industry and our clients with more certainty into 2022 and will reduce pressure on our trades, suppliers and employees as we move through the volume of business eligible for the building bonus,” Mr Alcock said.

“I congratulate and thank Premier Mark McGowan and Treasurer Ben Wyatt for listening to the industry and implementing a practical solution that will assist our industry to deliver better outcomes for our clients.”

“I’d also like to thank Minister for Planning Rita Saffioti and Minister for Housing Peter Tinley for their ongoing industry support and ensuring policy that will safeguard a sustained housing recovery and support local jobs in our residential construction industry.”

“I now call on the Federal Government to align federal building grants to WA State Government’s revised eligibility criteria and extended construction commencement timeframes to provide certainty to the residential building industry Australia wide,” Mr Alcock noted.
