Everyone deserves a safe place to sleep at night
In Australia, on any given night tens of thousands of people will be without a safe and secure place to sleep.

On Census night in 2021, the ABS estimated that over 122,000 people were experiencing homelessness in the country. Some were ‘sleeping rough’ in improvised dwellings, tents or sleeping out. Others were in temporary accommodation, severely crowded dwellings, couch-surfing or sleeping in their cars. And countless others are at risk of homelessness; one rent increase, family emergency or job loss way from losing their accommodation.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
To help make a difference, ABN Group’s CEO Andrew Roberts will be participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout for his seventh year. With the full backing of the business and as an Ambassador for the Sleepout, we are raising funds for the vital work Vinnies does and advocating for the cause.
Why the Vinnies CEO Sleepout?
As one of Australia’s largest building groups, we are very present to the growing challenges that so many people face accessing safe and stable housing, let alone realising the dream of home ownership.
The CEO Sleepout being one of the key fundraising sources for Vinnies’ important work in supporting people experiencing and at risk of homelessness.

2019 CEO Sleepout – Andrew Roberts with Shane Ball
ABN Group leaders, including Dale Alcock and Andrew Roberts, have proudly championed the cause for well over a decade.
Over the last six years, ABN Group employees, suppliers, friends and partners have given generously, helping to raise almost $335,000 to empower Vinnies work. The Sleepout is not only an opportunity to raise funds for Vinnies, but also raise awareness across our business, industry and community about the impact of homelessness in Australia.
We are looking forward to continuing our support this year and we encourage your generosity to empower Vinnies.
