ABN Group wins at WA Training Awards

ABN Group is incredibly proud to have been awarded WA Large Employee of the Year at the 2026 Western Australian Training Awards on Thursday 10 September 2026.

The award recognises large businesses that have achieved excellence in the provision of nationally recognised training. It’s an acknowledgment of the consistently large investment we make in our ABN Training apprenticeship program and the important work our People Development team continues to do in enabling our employees to reach their full potential.

Our fellow finalists were Australia’s Submarine Company and BHP Western Australian Iron Ore. These are huge national and international organisations, so our win recognises that our training is world class.

It is our commitment to training and whole-of-career development that has enabled us to continue to be the industry leader.

For ABN Group Managing Director, Dale Alcock, this win is very personal.

“I started my career as an apprentice bricklayer and now lead ABN in delivering the dream of home ownership for thousands of families each year.”

We have trained approximately 2,000 new tradespeople since we commenced our training program in 2004, and we consistently have a minimum of 120 young men and women employed in apprenticeships in WA.

“Our win is a testament to providing an opportunity to enter our industry as an apprentice,” said Dale “And an apprenticeship is the first step to a career with no limits.

Like Dale, we have countless stories across the Group of people whose careers have commenced from an apprenticeship and have continued to grow. They are now providing valuable mentorship and leadership to our future ABN team members and future leaders.

My congratulations to our ABN Training and People Development teams for their hard work and commitment that has led to this win. Thank you to everyone at ABN Group who plays a part in our drive to continuously learn and grow.

ABN now goes forward as the WA representative in the 2026 Australian Training Awards. Watch this space!
