A new charity home taking shape
ABN Group Victoria’s partnership with Cottage by the Sea has grown into one of our most meaningful community initiatives and collaborations. What began as a shared commitment to supporting children in need has evolved into multi-year impacts, hands-on volunteering, and charitable builds that directly fund life-changing programs for young people.
From our first charity home in Point Lonsdale which raised $1.68 million for the expansion of Cottage by the Sea’s Riptide facility, to annual working bees where more than 40 of our people roll up their sleeves to help maintain the Queenscliff site, our team remains deeply connected to the purpose behind this partnership since its establishment in 2020.
Now, we are proud to continue this legacy with a new charity home taking shape in Armstrong Creek.
Introducing our New Cottage by the Sea Charity Home
In collaboration with Boutique Homes, Warralily Estate and an incredible group of principal and supporting partners, ABN Group is building the newly launched Portofino 28 with the Alpine façade in the award-winning Armstrong Creek community.
Every element of this home has been designed and delivered with one purpose – to raise vital funds for Cottage by the Sea. Once complete, the home will be sold at auction and 100% of the proceed will go directly to supporting children in need.
The progress so far: Crafting a home with heart
Over the last two months, construction has accelerated, bringing the coastal-inspired family home to life. What began as structural progress has now shifted into refined detailing, setting the stage for the next phase of transformation.
October highlights
October marked the completion of major structural works. The roof installation, solar panel fit-off and full glazing brought the form of the home to life, while wall wrap and electrical rough-in were finalised. With kitchen measurements complete and cabinetry design moved into production, the groundwork for a bright and functional interior has been set.
November highlights
In November, the focus turned toward craft and finishing. Exterior cladding was complete and is ready for paint and render. Inside, cabinetry install has wrapped up and stone has been measured, preparing the home for internal painting and the layers of detail still to come.
Still to come
Over the coming months, painting, tiling, flooring, and landscaping will bring the home to life. Every detail moves us closer to a space that will welcome families and make a real difference for hundreds of young people each year.
Construction Manager Clint Aquilina shared, “The project is tracking beautifully and the home is progressing really well internally and externally.”
Project Lead Lauren Schiavello added, “We’re building great momentum as we prepare for our Community Event and Auction. It’s an exciting time for everyone involved.”
